Stephen H. Reel, 58, of Raleigh died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, June 19, 2013.
He was a native of Pitt County and was the son of Maxine Vincent Reel and the late Raymond Reel.
He attended East Carolina University and majored in music and mathematics.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Phillips Reel; his mother, Maxine Reel of Bath; his daughter, Jennifer Reel Rutledge (Gilbert) of Raleigh; his son, Brian Reel of Atlanta, Ga.; his stepdaughter, Natalie Hare Francis (Mike); his grandchild, Addilyn B. Francis of Raleigh; his brother, George Reel (Sandy) of Winterville; several nieces; and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Montlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service.
