LEXINE KIRBY WILLIAMS

Lexine Kirby Williams, 80, of Morganton died Friday, June 21, 2013, at her home following a period of declining health.
She was born in Wayne County on July 16, 1932, and was a daughter of the late Barney and Leckie Musgrave Kirby.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church, where she held several offices and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also an inactive member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband, James "Jim" Williams, of the home; step-children and their spouses, James David and Angela Williams and Susan and Ronnie Conley; step-grandchildren, Dawn Spoon, Jonathan Welborn, Justin Williams and Sarah Williams; step-great-grandchild, Hunter Spoon, all of Morganton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lexine was preceded in death by eight brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Glen Alpine United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Beall officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Musgrave Cemetery in Pikeville, N.C., with the Rev. Sherman Dilley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Glen Alpine United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 576, Glen Alpine, N.C., 28628.
