MOUNT OLIVE -- Friday morning, April 26, 2013, Mrs. Annie Laura Swinson Myers, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was at home when God's angels came for her.
Services to celebrate her life and home going will be held Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m. at Bear Marsh Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful, longtime member. The Rev. Robert Ellis and the Rev. Millard Bounds will officiate. Burial will follow in Calypso Cemetery.
Mrs. Myers was a retired nurse having worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She assisted her late husband, Harvey Myers, in the operation of G.H. Myers Store in the Beautancus community.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy M. and Douglas Brogden of Mount Olive; two grandsons, Jeff Brogden and wife, Bonnie and Tracy Brogden and wife, Rebekah, all of Mount Olive; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Brogden, Molly Brogden, Benjamin Brogden and Zachariah Brogden; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, James Albert and Rossie Nickelson Swinson; and her sisters and brothers, Sallie S. Brock, Louise S. Davis, Stella S. Sutton, Ulysses Swinson, Elmer Swinson, A.D. Swinson and Weldon "Pete" Swinson; and a special niece, Rossie B. Byrd.
