Mrs. Sarah Best Dees, 86, 3002 Thoroughfare Road, Goldsboro, N.C., departed her earthly life on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Sarah was born in Wayne County, N.C., on Dec. 31, 1926, to the late Mr. Willis Best Sr. and Mrs. Georgiana Hamilton Best.
She received her education in the public schools of Wayne County.
Mrs. Dees was an active member of Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church for many years.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning, April 23, 2013, at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1065 Tommy's Road, from 10 to 10:50 a.m.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Joe A. Jackson will officiate.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3888 Highway 70 West, Princeton, N.C.
Mrs. Dees leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories her husband, Edward J. Dees; her sons, Jimmy Hutchins and friend, Juanita, of Goldsboro, and Donald Hutchins and wife, Annie, of Capital Heights, Md.; her daughters, Kathleen Spruill and husband, Zebedee, of Temple Hill, Md., and Sandra Youmans and husband, Randall, of Fort Washington, Md.; her brother, Beatrice Best and wife, Barbara, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a special nephew whom she raised, Charles Braswell and wife, Lisa; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
The family will assemble on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the residence of Mr. Edward Dees, 3002 Thoroughfare Road, Goldsboro, N.C., an hour prior to the visitation at 8:55 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
