WADESBORO -- Mrs. Ethel McAlpine Holliman, 89, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at her home.
There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, in the chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Ethel was born Jan. 6, 1924, in Boston, Mass., daughter of the late John and Hildur McAlpine.
She was a retired school cafeteria worker.
Surviving are her children, Jeanie (Howard) Cook of Tarboro, N.C., Kathy (Danny) Pittman of Marion, N.C., Jimmy (Shirl) MacDonald of Georgetown, Ky., Buddy (Shelia) MacDonald of Colorado Springs, Colo., Annie Jones of Oregon, Peg (Jim) MacDonald of Wadesboro, N.C., and David John Holliman of Bronx, N.Y.; 34 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Rito Rodriguez of Goldsboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Francis MacDonald and William Holliman, and her children, Billy, Roger, Wayne, James Duncan, Cheryl Ann, Kevin and David MacDonald and Linda Lynch.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 222 S. Church St., Suite 303, Charlotte, N.C., 28202.
