MOUNT OLIVE -- Jerry Daniel Reaves, 73, Rhodes Church community near Mount Olive, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service to remember him and his life will be held Tuesday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, and will be officiated by pastor Carroll Overman and pastor Tim Grant. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 1, from 7 to 9 p.m., and
at other times at the residence.
Mr. Reaves, a longtime farmer, was a member of Rhodes Friends Meeting.
He was the son of the late Milford Daniel and Sarah Louise Grady Reaves.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen Sullivan Reaves of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brad and April Reaves of Beaver City, Neb., and Stephen Reaves of Mount Olive; grandchildren, Brandi and Nick Bartley, Matthew and Emily Reaves, Taylor Reaves, Danielle Reaves and Allie Reaves; two great-grandchildren, Leah Bartley and Brylie Reaves; his siblings and their spouses, Hilda R. Barwick of Grifton, Bennie and Margaret Reaves of Dudley and Sandra and Ray Weeks of Grantham; his dear mother-in-law, Virginia Sullivan; special daughters, Rita Long and Jeanette Davis; brothers-in-law and spouses, Gerald Sullivan and Donna and Wayne and Mary Sullivan; many special nieces and nephews; and his beloved and faithful companion, his dog "Teddy."
