MAUDE WORRELL GURLEY

Maude Worrell Gurley, 98, went to be with her Lord Saturday evening at Willow Creek Nursing Home while surrounded by her family.
Maude was born in Wayne County Aug. 4, 1914, to the late Jim Berry Worrell and Lila Butts Worrell.
She was a longtime member of Clingman Street Church of God, now Goldsboro Worship Center. Maude was devoted to her church, and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. An avid bowler until age 90, Maude enjoyed playing in the Wayne County and North Carolina Senior Games for many years, and was the recipient of 94 medals.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at the Worrell Family Cemetery, off of Mark Edwards Road, with the Rev. Danny Johnson officiating.
Maude is survived by her daughters, Emma Lee Pittman of Goldsboro and Marlene Taylor and husband, Bobby, of LaGrange; sons, Jesse Gurley and wife, Katie, of Goldsboro and Anthony Eugene Gurley and wife, Becky, of Kernersville; son-in-law, Ted Daw of Hixson, Tenn.; sister, Annette Smith of Goldsboro; 11 grandchildren, Robert Gurley, Jerry Pittman and wife, Kay, Janet Quinn, Judy Spicer and husband, John, Jimmy Pittman and wife, Eva, Keith Daw, Denise Estep and husband, Dennis, Dawn Barnes and husband, Johnny, Shawne Llewellyn and husband, Kyle, Cory Gurley and Courtney Gurley and husband, Baxter; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Evelyn Carroll Gurley and Lila Joyce Daw; son-in-law, William Pittman; grandson, James Edward Gurley; and 12 siblings.
