FAYE K. WADE

SNOW HILL -- Faye Kearney Wade, 70, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Graveside services will be held today, March 10, at 2 p.m. at the Snow Hill Cemetery, with Kenny Wayne Smith officiating.
A native of Greene County, she was born July 8, 1942, the daughter of James David "Reuben" Kearney and Mary "Lady" Edmundson Kearney. Mrs. Wade resided in Greene County her entire life and retired from the Greene County Schools where she was a secretary and administrative assistant. Following the aftermath of the Hurricane Floyd and the flood it caused in 1999, Mrs. Wade returned to the family farm where she was reared and established her residence there near much of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Wade.
Her surviving family includes her son, Donald E. "Donnie" Wade and wife, Denise, of New Bern; a dear and devoted sister, Patsy Kearney Newcomb of Snow Hill; her special nieces, Christy Moore Carter and husband, Tommy, of Snow Hill and Tiffany Moore Harrison and husband, Chad, of Pikeville; her grandchildren, Nichole Wade and Amber Wade, both of Kinston; great-grandchildren, Kaylan, Aaron, Monica, Carmen, Andreas, Alexander, Gabriella, and Oscar; and her great-nieces and nephews whom she considered as grandchildren also, Candice, Zoe, Cody, Kaiden and Mena.
The family received friends on Saturday evening from 6 until 8 at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service, and other times at the home of Patsy K. Newcomb, 2706 Peanut Road, Snow Hill. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center, extended family and friends, for all of the care shown to Mrs. Wade and them during her illness.
