SWANSBORO -- Ava Peele Hill, 81, Swansboro, formerly of Fremont, died Tuesday.
The funeral was held today at Elmwood Cemetery, Fremont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.C. Hill, in 2005; sisters, Virginia Mooring and Mayola Waddell; brother, Robert Peele; and son-in-law, Jerry Horne.
Surviving are her daughters, Julia Kearney (Bill) with whom she lived, Teresa Horne of Nahunta and Diane Rand (Phillip) of Cape Carteret; grandchildren, Chad Kearney, Chris Kearney (Sherry), Ashley Horne, Karen Howell (Shawn) and Jennifer Powell; great-grandchildren, Karley Kearney, Riley Kearney and Isabel Howell; stepgreat-grandchildren, Lacey Barrett and Reece Williford; and sister, Frances Price (Larry) of Wilson.
