STANLEY LOUIS BUCK II
Died Feb. 5, 2013
RALEIGH -- Stanley Louis Buck II, 73, Raleigh, passed away at Rex Hospital Feb. 5, 2013, from injuries suffered in a fall at his home.
He was born in Abington, Pa., and was a graduate of William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, Pa., and Guilford College in Greensboro with a degree in economics.
Stan, who was retired, had been the president and owner of both Crossland Forest Products, a hardwood lumber trading company in Raleigh, and Allegheny Wood Sales of Willow Grove, Pa.
Stan is survived by his loving wife, Ann Barwick Buck of the home; a daughter, Rebecca Carla Buck Roberts, of Charlotte; and two grandsons, John Drew Roberts III and William Conyer Roberts of Charlotte.
In addition, he leaves three stepchildren, Rita Delano Ilfeld of Orange County, Calif., Nancy Delano Bachus, of Ashland, Va., and David M. Delano of St. Petersburg, Fla., and seven stepgrandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Olivia Buck Woodman, of Issaquah, Wash., and her husband, Frank Woodman.
There are two nieces and two nephews, Valerie Woodman and Aaron Woodman of Seattle, Wash., Melinda Irwin Ellis of Redding, Conn., and Don Irwin, of Oak Hill, Va.
Mr. Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Stuart Wylie and Rebecca Carroll Ligget Buck of Meadowbrook, Pa., and a sister, Carroll Buck Irwin of Wellesley, Mass.
He was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Raleigh.
Visitation will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, N.C., 27609, Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be at Willow Cale Cemetery, 306 E. Elm St., Goldsboro, N.C., Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at noon.
