PIKEVILLE -- Loyd Henderson Campbell, 80, died Saturday morning at home.
Born Nov. 23, 1932, in Johnston County to the late Collis Henderson and Katie Johnson Campbell, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Campbell and Atlas Campbell, and a grandson, Junior Lassiter.
A United States Navy veteran, he served for 15 years with a tour in Korea and three tours in Vietnam.
He attended United Faith Christian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff McKeel officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Joyce Ann Campbell; son, Glenn Campbell of Pikeville; daughters, Pamela C. Beasley and husband, Elmore, of Clayton, Brenda Price and husband, Rickie, and Karen McKeel and husband, Jeff, all of Kenly; seven grandchildren, Kayla Campbell, Eddie Campbell, Robin Hicks, Adam Hicks, Brandon Price, Tyler McKeel and Meagan McKeel; and three great-grandchildren, Bryanna Hicks, Savannah Hicks and Lilly Hicks.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
