Sarah Yow Tew died suddenly Wednesday night.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1000 11th St., Goldsboro. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, U.S. 70 West, Goldsboro.
There will be a time to share with the family from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Jerome D. Tew; sons, Jerome Tew Jr. (Kara) of Wetumpka, Ala., David Tew of Goldsboro, Daniel Tew (Kim) of Louisville, Ky., and Brian Tew (Cheri) of Weare, N.H.; a daughter, Wendy Tew Pruitt (Steve) of Connersville, Va.; sisters, Pat Yow of Greensboro and Letris Yow of New Bern; a brother, David Yow of Greensboro; sisters-in-law, Faye Yow, Carolyn Yow, Susan Yow and Dottie Yow all of Greensboro; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a native of Guilford County, and was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie Bell Stanfield Yow and William Bige Yow, and siblings, Richard Yow, Bob Yow, Jim Yow and Bud Yow.
Mrs. Tew was an active member of her church, where she served for 18 years as the stake relief society president and 10 years in the family history center.
