DUDLEY -- Robert Eugene Kornegay, 75, Dudley, died Wednesday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Duplin County, he was the son of the late Morris and Sara Elizabeth Kornegay, and husband of the late Judith Coates Kornegay.
A longtime farmer, Robert attended The First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
A service to celebrate Mr. Kornegay's life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Family members will greet friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times will be at the home.
Mr. Kornegay is survived by three daughters, Lori K. Moody and husband, Felix, of Dudley, Dana K. Baker and husband, Henry, of Dudley and Jill Kornegay of Dudley; two sons, Currie Eugene Kornegay and wife, Mary, and Robert Vann Kornegay and wife, Cindy, all of Dudley; a brother, Daniel Kornegay of Mount Olive; three sisters, Maxine Butts and Linda Herring both of Mount Olive and Susie Satcher of Wilson Mills; 10 grandchildren, Natalie D. Stinnett and husband, Tim, of Goldsboro, Bethany K. Gurley and husband, Michael, of Princeton, Currie Ross Kornegay, Felix Shawn Moody, Kelsey Mae Kornegay, Caleb Vann Kornegay, Ronda Aguilar and Jessica Roberts all of Dudley and Laken V. Baker and Brittany N. Graham both of Mount Olive; five great-grandchildren, Noah Shay Stinnett of Goldsboro and Gabriel Lopez, Adriana Lopez, Briana Lopez and Jocelin Aguilar all of Dudley; and a special friend, Lena Price of Goldsboro.
