JAMES REGINALD MACK

LAGRANGE -- Retired Air Force Major James Reginald Mack, 77, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Jim was born in Elizabeth, N.J., March 7, 1935, to the late James Reginald Mack Sr. and Margaret Sheehan Mack. He was married to the late Betty Cassell Mack, who preceded him in death Nov. 14, 2009.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and retired with the rank of major after 20 years of service.
He later worked as an accountant, and as well as owned and operated Jim's Pool and Spa in Highland Springs, Va.
A service to celebrate Jim's life will be held Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fred Crank officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Brown of Gloucester Point, Va., Patricia Hockin of Cary and Raye Alpsu of Dallas, Texas; his son, James "Chip" Mack and wife, Denise, of Raleigh; his stepchildren, Paula Miller of Boone, Jennifer Southerland and husband, Avis, of Providence and Michael Beggarly and wife, Gail, of Orlando, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters, Marylin and Kathleen; his brother, Terry; and his canine companion, T.J.
