BRENDA B. JACKSON

MOUNT OLIVE -- Brenda Blizzard Jackson, 63, passed away on Thursday morning, July 12, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro surrounded by her family.
Services to celebrate her life were held Friday, July 13, at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Richard Cuddington, and followed by visitation. Burial was Saturday, July 14, at 10 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
A native of the White Flash/Blizzard Crossroads community of Duplin County, Mrs. Jackson was a longtime member of the Northeast Original Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Olive where she devoted many years to serving the church and community in several capacities. She taught Sunday school, and was involved in the Ladies Auxiliary. She also was the author of two children's books, "Henrietta and the Pot Bellied Pig" and "Flight to the Winter Carnival."
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jerry Jackson; their two sons, Shannon Jackson and his wife, Sharon, of Wallace, and Christopher Jackson of Mount Olive; a grandson, Connor Seth Jackson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lisa Blizzard Bowden and Buddy Bowden of Mount Olive, and Robin Kornegay Wiggins of Seven Springs; another brother-in-law, Jimmy Jackson, of Mount Olive; a sister-in-law, Sue J. Beaman of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Randall Blizzard and Henrietta Whitfield Blizzard; and a sister, Gloria Faye Barnette.
