Bill Vester Coker, 76, passed away Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Roland and Carrie Daniels Coker.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Coker will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Coker Memorial Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Reynolds Smith officiating.
Surviving are his children, Sylvia Coker Smith and Rhonda Coker Webb; grandchildren, Lisa Yeargin, Michael Cruse, Ryan Newsome, Tyler Benton, Lyndsey Benton, Alex Benton and Karrie King; great-grandchidren, Kirby Yeargin and Beckett Cruse; and sister, Rose Hare.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Coker, and sisters, Margie Pate and Carolyn Hill.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at the church.
