CLARENCE T. "TOMMY" KLEINERT

Clarence Thomas "Tommy" Kleinert, 60, passed away Thursday morning at his residence.
Born in Myrtle Beach, S.C., he was the son of the late Clarence and Margaret Forehand Kleinert.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joe Kleinert, and a sister, Laverne Wiggs.
Tommy graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1969 and North Carolina State University in 1973.
A dedicated member of the Wolfpack Club, Tommy was also well known throughout Wayne County for his passion for coaching various youth teams, including The Boys and Girls Club, Rosewood teams, Babe Ruth and the Special Olympics.
Tommy was a devoted member of Rosewood First Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate the life of Tommy will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kent Boone officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Kleinert is survived by his wife, Dee Kleinert; a stepdaughter, Katie Scarborough and her husband, Chris; a granddaughter, Kayla Scarborough; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family members will greet friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times will be at the home.
