CLARENCE DONNELL KING

Clarence Donnell King, 54, was born to the late John and Eleanor King Oct. 15, 1957, in Brunswick County, and raised by the late Clarence and Eleanor Price. He departed this life Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

He attended North Duplin High School.

After graduation he joined the Army, and was honorably discharged after 12 years of service.

He was recently self-employed locally, and worked part-time at BoJangles.

Clarence was a pioneer in the family and community. A moment never passed without him putting a smile on someone's face. He was best known for his hospitality, charity and helping hands.

He leaves to cherish his memories four children, LaKisha King of Faison, Detris (Jennifer) King of Salisbury, Terrance King of Salisbury and Decoria King of Dudley; an ex-wife and friend, Erika Branch; seven grandchildren, Shawnice, Nehemiah, Zaria, Detris, Brianna, Shaily and Tristen; 13 siblings, John (Pauline) King, Mary (Eugene) Boles, Harry (Eva) King, Zelda (Troy) Bellamy, Joe (Lois) King, Teddy King, Carolyn (Clifton) Thomas, Marie (Arthur) Stephens, Daniel King, Wayne King, Shelby (Randy) Green, Robert King and David (Christy) King; a childhood and special friend, Lillian Pittman; a special friend, Gloria "Teen" Oates; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, all whom will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, from 4 to 7 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home.

A service of remembrance will be held Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Maranatha Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 212 E. Oak St., Goldsboro.

Mr. King's delicate temple, along with his adored family, will be escorted to King Family Cemetery on Mulberry Street in Shallotte, for interment rites Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at noon.

Mr. King's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the King and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
