PIKEVILLE -- Robert "Joe" Joseph Campbell Jr., 53, Pikeville, peacefully entered into rest Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at his home in the arms of his family. After a courageous journey, Joe is finally at peace.
Joe was employed by Time Warner Cable as a maintenance technician.
A service to celebrate Joe's life will be held Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
Interment will be Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Campbell of Mooresville; two sisters, Ann Folk and husband, Rick, of North Augusta, S.C., and Cathy Campbell of Mooresville; a brother, Scott Campbell and wife, Tammy, of Pikeville; his longtime best friend and companion, Krissa Perron, and their daughter, Chelsey Perron; four nephews, Shawn Folk and wife, Lisa, of Sugar Hill, Ga., Robert Helms and wife, Jada, of Bessemer City, Brandon Campbell of Goldsboro and Airman first class Ryan Campbell, United States Air Force, Alaska; a great-niece, Ashley Helms; and three four-legged kids, Buddy, Lexi and Gizmo.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joseph Campbell Sr.; sister, Caron Campbell; brother, Brian Campbell; and niece, Jennifer Helms.
We would like to express gratitude to our out-of-town family, neighbors, co-workers and friends and Dr. Atkins and staff for the thoughts, prayers and TLC. Each of you played a very important part in our lives.
The family would also like to award special recognition to Joel Butler, Krissa, Chelsey, Tammy, Preacher Bill and 3HC Hospice for comforting Joe in the final step of his journey.
