Billy "Bill" Junior Morris, 79, passed away on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Bill was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on Dec. 25, 1931, to the late John and Eva Blanton Morris. He retired as a truck driver with Transcon Trucking Company. Bill served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He will be remembered by his family as a loving father and grandfather.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Mickey Whitfield and the Rev. Joshua Whitfield officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Gwen Vaughn of Goldsboro and Vickie Wallace and husband, Butch of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Emily Freeman and husband, Ralph of Goldsboro, Denise Adkins and husband, James of Goldsboro, and Deanna Bias and husband, Brian of Fort Erwin, Calif.; his great-grandchildren, Courtney Barnes, Wallace Smith, Layla Adkins, Darrion Adkins and Justin Adkins; and his brother, Bob Morris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Donald B. Vaughn; his great-grandson, Gabriel Lampson; and his sister, JoAnne Gauge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
