SHARON DELORES WADE HOBBS

Minister Sharon Delores Wade Hobbs was born July 7, 1970, to Curtis Odell and Annie Mae Wade of Wayne County. In the stillness of the evening surrounded by her loving family, minister Sharon Hobbs completed her assignment, fulfilled her destiny and transitioned from labor to reward Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She received her education from Southern Wayne High School in Dudley, graduating in 1988. She also received her cosmetology license from Swinson's School of Cosmetology of Goldsboro.
She was employed with Cooper Standard for 11 years, and was co-owner, along with her beloved husband, Michael, of Affordable Home Improvements.
Minister Hobbs shared many of her natural gifts of creativity such as sewing, home interior and design, hospitality, (family and friends), baking, crafts and many more.
Sharon, as her family and friends affectionately called her, was also very competitive in games and other family activities.
Minister Hobbs surrendered her life and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior in October 1993. She was known for her burning testimonies and giving God the praise in spite of what she was going through.
God anointed her to sing and many have been blessed by her voice. To God be the glory.
On her personal journey with Jesus, he anointed her with the spiritual gifts of giving and exhortation, and she was a skilled psalmist known throughout Wayne and surrounding counties.
The Lord later called her to preach the unadulterated word of God, and she preached her initial sermon Aug. 15, 2009. "It starts right here" 1 Peter 4:17-18.
She was an associate minister of Ram in the Bush Holy Church under the leadership of her mother, pastor and founder, Annie Mae Wade. She served in many capacities under the evangelistic ministry such as devotional leader, choir director, coordinator of helping hands outreach, revivals and other ministry events. Her ultimate goal was to please God.
She united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Mr. Michael Wayne Hobbs, April 22, 1989. To this union two beautiful twin daughters were born, Shanita and Shanetta Hobbs.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Michael Wayne Hobbs; daughters, Shanita and Shanetta Hobbs, of the home; her loving parents, Curtis Odell and Annie Mae Wade of Dudley; a sister, Debbie Ann (Eugene) Baker; four brothers, Jerage "Roy" Atkinson, Curtis "Buddy" (Wyneva) Wade Jr., John Robert (Kerri) Wade, and Alton "Peaches" McCoy, all of Goldsboro; other siblings divinely added include Curtis Wade of Florida, Annette "Bootsy" Wade and Caroline Wade of Georgia; mother-in-law, Betty V. Davis of Dudley; three brothers-in-law, Rodney (Sheila) Hobbs of LaGrange, Timothy Hobbs of Dudley and Eric (Michelle) Hobbs of Goldsboro; and a special cousin-in-law, Troy (Marchelle) Horner of Garner; three goddaughters, Zhane' Wade of Goldsboro, Jasmine Nobles of Atlanta, Ga., and Rikeisha Tillman of Dudley; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, then from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Eastern Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at 1401 N. Carolina St., Goldsboro.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Goldsboro-Raleigh District Assembly, 211 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro.
Following the services in the sanctuary, Mrs. Hobbs' delicate temple, along with her adored family, will be escorted to Wayne Memorial Park South for interment rites.
Mrs. Hobbs' earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Hobbs and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
