EVELYN LAVERN SMITH COLEY

Evelyn Lavern Smith Coley, daughter of Blonnie Smith and the late David Smith, was born Sept. 16, 1966, in Wayne County. She peacefully departed this life Satur-day, Nov. 12, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She attended Wayne County Public Schools, and graduated from Southern Wayne High School Class of 1984.
She was a holy, spiritual woman who loved the Lord. She was a member of The House of Prayer in Dudley, but also attended other churches faithfully.
She was employed at O'Berry Center in Goldsboro for about 12 years. She loved what she did as a C.N.A. II, and loved working with one of her special clients, Charles (known as her moek moek).
Evelyn was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Smith, and a sister, Janice Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Ricky Lee Coley of the home; a son, Ricky Devon Coley of the home; two daughters, Renisha Renee Coley of Dudley and Reqhilkiah Shuvon Coley of the home; her mother, Blonnie Smith of Dudley; a brother, Lendal (Deborah) Smith of Goldsboro; a sister, Angie (Ricardo) Woods of Dudley; two aunts, Lula M. Pearson of Goldsboro and Juanita Pearson of Philadelphia, Pa.; a mother-in-law, Dorothy (Broadie) Williams of Dudley; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, from 4 to 5:15 p.m. at E. M. Matthews Funeral Home, then from 6 to 7 p.m. at House of Prayer, 958 Sleepy Creek Road, Dudley.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Bear Creek Association Headquarters Building, 1800 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro.
Following the services in the sanctuary, Mrs. Coley's delicate temple, along with her adored family, will be escorted to House of Prayer Cemetery in Dudley.
Mrs. Coley's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Coley and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
