BETSY B. NEWCOMB
March 21, 1954-Sept. 26, 2011
Betsy Brantham Newcomb, 57, entered into her heavenly home Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her loving family after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer for 51/2 years.
Betsy was born in Wilson County March 21, 1954, to Gladys Faye Mitchell Jones and the late John Robert Brantham.
She was a member of Pleasantview Presbyterian Church.
Betsy was a very loving, giving, and caring mother, wife and grandmother who loved everyone. She was proudly known as a "professional grandma."
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnny Pickett officiating. The interment will be Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Newcomb Cemetery in Seven Springs.
In addition to her mother, Betsy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Wayne Newcomb; her three sons, Anthony Wayne Newcomb and wife, Dina, of Goldsboro, Joseph Wayne Newcomb and wife, Christi, of Pikeville and Clifton Jones of LaGrange; her four grandchildren, Reagan Newcomb, Joshua Newcomb, Makayla Newcomb and KatieAnn Newcomb; and her sister, Rebecca Carter of Mount Olive.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Brantham; her nephew, Gary Carter; and her grandmother, Alma Brantham.

The family will receive friends following the service, and other times at 869 Riverbend Road North, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
