STANTONSBURG -- Thelma Genora Newsome, 85, 3552 N.C. 222 East, Stantonsburg, N.C., passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at her residence.
Service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. James Holy Church, 100 N. Main St., Stantons-burg, with the Rev. Mark A. Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden, Lane Street Extension.
Loving memories are forever cherished by eight sons, Ralphel Newsome (Doris) of Pikeville, Elpaso Newsome (Pearl) of Greenville, Eugene Newsome and Willie Newsome both of Temple Hills. Md., Donnie Newsome of Wilson, Leon Newsome Jr., of Macon, Ga., Larry Newsome (Angela) of Fremont and Gary Newsome of Wilson; five daughters, Linda Kaye Artis (Garry) of Stantonsburg, Marva Ruffin (Larry) of Pikeville, Yvonne Dunn (Jackie) of Goldsboro, Gloria Lewis (Donald) of Goldsboro and Erma Tyson of Greenville; 35 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other special relatives and friends.
A public viewing will take place Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 Tarboro St. SW, Wilson.
The family will receive friends at the residence, where it will also assemble one hour prior to the service in preparation for the funeral procession.
Caring and professional services have been entrusted to Hamilton Funeral Chapel of Wilson.
