VIVIAN F. LAYDEN

LAGRANGE -- Vivian Farmer Layden, 78, LaGrange, passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011.
Vivian was born Jan. 15, 1933, in Lenoir County to the late Drew and Sadie Hardison Farmer.
Vivian worked several years with Howell's Childcare, but her greatest love was being a homemaker and farmer's wife.
She was a wonderful cook and greatly enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
Vivian was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.
A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Archie Ratliff and the Rev. David Paramore officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange.
Vivian is survived by her husband of almost 61 years, Griffin Layden; two daughters, Carol Layden Hensley and husband, Joe, of LaGrange and Delia Layden Suggs and husband, Clyde, of Snow Hill; two grandchildren, Eddie Jones and wife, Anna, of Milesburg, Pa., and Chris Suggs of LaGrange; two great-grandchildren, Gwyneth and Morgan Jones; sister, Patricia Everett and husband, George, of Kinston; special family friends, Vernon and Rachel Pelletier of LaGrange; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service of remembrance, and at other will be at the home.
