MOUNT OLIVE -- Zelda Kornegay Smith, 87, died early Saturday morning at Mount Olive Care and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m., at the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with Dr. H. Dennis Draper officiating. Visitation will follow the funeral. Interment will be on Monday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m., at Wayne Memorial Park.
She is survived by her two sons and their wives, B.F. "Benny" Smith Jr. and Laurie of Goldsboro, and Johnny Mac Smith and Tracy of Sneads Ferry; four grandchildren, Laurie Leigh Harris and husband, Robert, B.F. Smith III and wife, Christie, Meredith Britt and husband, Chad, and Susan Carol Smith; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Zelda was preceded in death by her parents; Ennis Kornegay and Mary Susan Taylor; her husband, Fitzhugh Smith; and a brother, Leighton Kornegay.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 403 E. Front St., New Bern, NC 28560.
