MOUNT OLIVE -- William Melvin Alphin, 63, 116 W. Pine Forest Road, Mount Olive, passed away Saturday night, June 25, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 28, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with Dr. Gregory A. Day officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately after the funeral, and at the home at other times.
Melvin was a native of the Blizzard's Crossroads section of Duplin County.
He was the son of the late Robert and Ancie Taylor Alphin.
He was owner and operator of Carolina Desk and Locker Inc., was an avid hunter and was a member of Limestone Hunting Club at Potter's Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Grady Alphin of the home; two daughters, Terri Ann Alphin and Lisa Kay Alphin Hines both of Mount Olive; two grandchildren, Anna Caroline Hines and Matthew Scott Hines both of Mount Olive; a sister, Judy Alphin Wiggins of Mount Olive; a brother, Robert "Bobby" Alphin of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Clifton Alphin and Danny Glenn Alphin.
