Alene Parrish Daniels, 85, Goldsboro, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011.
Mrs. Daniels was born April 24, 1926, in Wayne County to the late Walter and Eva Parrish.
She was wife of the late Freddie Daniels, and was preceded in death by a son, Charles Spencer "Tadpole" Daniels; daughter, Mildred Lewis; and a grandson, Brandon Daniels.
She was a member of Garris Chapel United Methodist Church and Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Mrs. Daniels retired as a dietitian with Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Daniels had a great love for her family and relished her role as mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by a son, Walter Ray Daniels and wife, Connie, of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Nicki D. Pittman and husband, Mike, of Goldsboro, Chad Lewis and wife, Donna, of Goldsboro, Brandi D. Mason and husband, Chris, of Raleigh, Lynn Farrow and her daughter, Morgan Cribb, of Wilmington; five great-grandchildren, Jackson Brady Mason, Kayla Nicole Pittman, Abi Dayeton Lewis, Ava Spencer Mason and Lexton Chadwick Lewis; brother, Emmett Parrish and wife, Margaret, of LaGrange; daughter-in-law, Karen Daniels of Sneads Ferry; and son-in-law, George Lewis of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service of remembrance, and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ray Daniels, 219 Hardingwood Drive, Goldsboro.
