Dorothy Lucille Groves Kearney, 82, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at her home.
Dorothy was born in Duplin County Aug. 3, 1928, to the late Leonard James Groves and Bertha Dail Groves Whitehead.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Richard Carroll Overman officiating.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Luther C. Kearney; her sons, Samuel Kearney of Goldsboro and Dennis Kearney and wife, Lori, of Pikeville; her daughter, Janice Kearney Hatch and husband, Ronald, of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Kimberly Price, Eric Ray Hatch, Jessica Christine Smith and Melissa Kearney; and her great-grandchildren, Brandon Matthew Hatch, Danielle Price, Payton Skylar Hatch and Riley Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandchild, Jessica Jarin Kearney.
