ELBERT FRYAR SR.
Elbert Fryar Sr., 81, 125 Strawberry Patch Lane, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Elbert was born May 12, 1921, in Sampson County to the late Lee and Lillie White Fryar. He, along with his late wife, Annie Goodman Fryar, were retired farmers.
Homegoing service will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Holly Grove Disciples Church with elder Terrell Power officiating. Burial will follow at Cobb Cemetary in Faison.
Elbert leaves behind a very special friend, Katie Moore, of the home; his daughters, Lillie Williams of Clinton, Deloris Simmons of Clinton, Mary Craddock of Goldsboro, Joyce Moses of Dudley, and Christiana Fonseca of Kenansville; his sons Hubert Fryar of Fayetteville, William Fryar of Dudley, Larry Fryar Sr. of Mount Olive, and Elbert Fryar Jr. of Leland; a stepdaughter, Edna Faison of Warsaw; a stepson, Kenneth Moore of Faison; sisters Lillie Stevens and Margaret Fryar, both of Faison; 26 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. with family present from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 29, at Hope Valley Funeral Service Chapel, 1275 Hobbton Highway, Clinton.
The family has entrusted services to Hope Valley Funeral Service and Cremation.
