Exum Darrell King, 83, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mount Olive. Burial with full military honors will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Born and raised in Goldsboro, he was the son of Gorman Exum King and Bettie Stallings King. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a M/Sgt. and from Cherry Hospital as a psychologist.
Mr. King is survived by his sons, Wade King, Kevin King and wife, Hong; two daughters, Cyndi King, Jennifer Miller and husband, Kris; two brothers, Ray King, Simon King; five sisters, Donna Wedemeyer, Faye Wilcox, Laura Nell Grimsley, Arlene Male, Betty Francis; and one granddaughter, Mara King. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Brown.
Family members will greet friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the church in Mount Olive.
