FREMONT -- Florence "Betty" Murray Peele May, 87, passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at the Brian Center in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at 6 p.m. from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. A private graveside service will be held at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro.
Mrs. May was born Sept. 15, 1923, to the late Bud and Florence Jones Peele.
She is survived by her husband, Russell May; four sons, Travis Russell May and wife, Shirley, of Raleigh, Kenneth May and wife, Diane, of Smithfield, Thomas May and wife, Brenda, of Black Creek and James May and companion, Richard Tice of Oxford; two daughters, Susan Raper and husband, Shorty, of Pikeville and Peggy Uzzell and husband, David, of Goldsboro; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening immediately follow the service at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, and other times at 202 W. Main St. in Fremont.
