Annie Laurie Hedgepeth Ellis, 75, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at home.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Poplar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Henderson. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Ellis was born in Vance County Sept. 17, 1935, to the late Malcom and Isabel Ball Hedgepeth.
She is survived by her husband, Edward W. Ellis Jr.; a son, Kirk Ellis and his wife, Robin, of Pikeville; two daughters, Cathy Ellis Jarrell and her husband, Van, of Germany and Geri Ellis Jones and her husband, Randy, of Mount Olive; two brothers, John Hedgepeth and Gilbert Hedgepeth of Henderson; a sister, Gloria Norwood of Oxford; and eight grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hedgepeth.
She was retired from the Wayne County Building and Grounds department.
The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the residence, 219 Westwood Drive in Goldsboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church, where she was a member, 867 N.C. 581 south, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
