Sally Walker Johnson, 84, passed away on Friday evening at Britthaven Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Dr. Glenn Phillips officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Sally was born in Sampson County on April 5, 1926, to the late Ernest Crumpler and Betty Williamson Crumpler. She was married to the late James D. Walker Jr. and Neil Johnson. Mrs. Johnson retired with the State of North Carolina with 25 years of service at O'Berry Center. She enjoyed her work as a volunteer at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors. She also enjoyed worship at First Baptist Church where she sang in the senior choir.

Sally is survived by her daughter, Judy Britt of Dudley; her sons, James D. Walker III and wife, Carrie, of Goldsboro, Steven E. Walker and wife, Nancy, of Goldsboro and Donald E. Walker and wife, Nan, of Pyallup, Wash.; her sister, Sara Dudley of Clinton; brothers, Eugene Crumpler of Clinton and Buddy Crumpler of Baltimore, Md.; grandchildren, Oliva Lowry and husband, Colin, James D. IV, Patrick, David, Tiffany, Chris, Austin D. and Ashton Walker; great-grandchildren, Jameson Lowry and Hannah Walker.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death in addition to her parents and husbands by a grandson, Michael E. Britt Jr. and six brothers and sisters.

The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the staff of Sterling House of Goldsboro for its care given to Mrs. Johnson the last five years and for the cards and visits by the Frances Greene Sunday School Class from First Baptist Church. Also, thanks to the staff of Britthaven of Goldsboro and the 3HC Hospice Care of Goldsboro. The family wishes to thank three special friends of the family, Mrs. Marie Hoover, Mrs. Jean St. Claire, and Mrs. Lavern Swerbenski of Christian Care Givers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's of North Carolina, Inc., P.O. Box 10608, Goldsboro, NC 27532, First Baptist Church, 125 S. John St., Goldsboro, NC 27530 or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Steven and Nancy Walker, 114 Halston Drive, Pikeville.
