ALMA E. LEWIS

LAGRANGE -- Alma Edgerton Lewis, 86, passed away Saturday morning at the Brian Center.
Alma was born in Wayne County to the late Ira Franklin Edgerton and Virginia Sasser Edgerton. She was married to the late Noah Alton Lewis.
Alma was employed as a sales associate with Belk for more than 40 years.
She was a member of Nahunta Friends Church.
Alma will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
Funeral service will be Monday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Bill Garner officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Alma is survived by her daughter, Sandra Garris and husband, Jim, of LaGrange; her son, Dennis Alton Lewis and wife, Gale, of Goldsboro; her sisters, Mary Belle Aycock and husband, Charles, of Pikeville and Janis Whitley; her brothers, J.T. Edgerton and wife, Elaine, of Goldsboro, Ben Ray Edgerton and wife, Katherine, of Nahunta and Robert S. Edgerton and wife, Annie Lou, of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, Kevin Whitley and wife, Cindy, Justin Lewis, Lindsey Lewis, Bryan Garris and Denise Brown; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Monday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her daughter, 101 N. Court, LaGrange.
