ANNIE VIVIAN RAYNOR DABNEY

Annie Vivian Raynor Dabney, 205 New Hope Village Drive, Goldsboro, was born in Bentonville, N.C., to the late Willie R. and Lela H. Raynor Aug. 12, 1923. She peacefully transitioned into everlasting peace Aug. 18, 2010, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Annie moved to Washington, D.C., and then to Maryland many years ago. There she met and married Lee Everette and gained a stepdaughter, Odessa Lee.
Later, Annie married Paul Dabney and gain another stepdaugher, Vivian Daniels.
Paul and Annie moved to Goldsboro, N.C., in 2003 and she had a good quality of life.
Her parents, brother, sister, nephew and husbands preceded her in death.
Precious memories will forever live in the hearts of her brother, Edsel Raynor (Jacqueline); two sisters-in-law, Margaret Dabney Jackson and Gloria Dabney; two stepdaughters, Odessa Lee (Hubert) and Vivian Daniels; a brother-in-law, James Edwards; a special friend, Cleveland Bell; many that she loved as daughters, Carrie Wiggins, Shirley Person and Margaret Williams (Lyndell); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services celebrating the prolific legacy of this great woman of God will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ. Bishop Alton Smith will be the chief celebrant.
A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service, with family present to receive friends.
Following the formal proceedings in the sanctuary, the E.M. Matthews classic angelic white fleet, led by its authentic Coupe Deflore´, will gracefully escort Mrs. Dabney's delicate vessel, along with her cherished family, to Elmwood Cemetery for interment rites. There Mrs. Dabney will rest on this side of the river Jordan until the great coronation in the middle of the air.
The family of Mrs. Dabney is receiving services of compassion and class from E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc.
