DANIEL LEE COX

Daniel Lee Cox, 76, Hill Drive Circle, passed away Tuesday morning, July 27, 2010, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday evening, July 29, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home in Goldsboro with visitation afterwards. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 30, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Cox was born in Wayne County Jan. 31,1934, to the late John William and Bessie Strickland Cox.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.
Mr. Cox was retired from White's Tire Service.
He is survived by his wife, Iris Huffman Cox; son, Steven Earl Cox and wife, Connie, of Goldsboro; daughter, Pamela Cox Thomas and husband, Rex, of Georgia; stepson, Jerry Oliver Rhodes and wife, Laura, of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and a special niece, Marie Hare of Kinston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Cox Jr., and a stepgrandson, Jacob Hobbs.
Memorial contributions may be directed to New Hope United Methodist Church or 3HC Hospice of Goldsboro.
