David Lee Echols, 65, died Saturday at his residence. He was born in Orlando, Fla., to Ethel Irene Perroza Echols of Oregon and the late Joseph Fred Echols. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
A memorial service with full military honors was held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vivian Perroza Echols and five children.
The family received friends immediately following the memorial service.
Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home of Goldsboro is serving the family.
