Blanche Trivette Williams died peacefully May 10 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center after a brief illness.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Goldsboro, with the Rev. James H. Harry officiating. A private family burial will precede the service at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Arnold Corriher officiating.

Born in Watauga County, she was the daughter of the late David and Elizabeth Trivette. She was the wife of the late James C. Williams Jr.

Mrs. Williams was an active and faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church since moving to Goldsboro in 1958.

She joined the Goldsboro Federation of The Woman's Club, where she served in various capacities for more than 50 years.

An avid gardener, she was a lifetime member of Goldsboro Garden Club and received many blue ribbons for her arrangements.

Mrs. Williams expressed her great love of art through her paintings and her work with the Arts Council.

One of her favorite activities was spending time with her bridge club friends of many years.

She is survived by her son, Tim Williams of Warsaw and special friend and companion, Faye Sanderson; her daughter, Sylvia Watkins of Wilmington; her daughter and son-in-law, Debra Corriher and the Rev. Arnold D. Corriher of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Teresa Mills, Susan Fenimore (Dale), James Watkins (Susan), Tyler Watkins, Jenny Corriher and Paige Corriher; her two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harvey Trivette and wife, Stella, of Boone.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her five sisters and three brothers.

The family will receive friends following the service.
