FREMONT -- Addie Olivia Kornegay Johnson, 64, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Baby," 203 W. Branch St., departed this
life peacefully Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. James Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), 514 Memorial Church Road in Fremont, with pastor Mark A. Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery in Fremont.
Olivia was born in Wayne County July 28, 1945, to the late Earl Kornegay and Mary Evans Kornegay.
Olivia leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Mary Johnson Stroud and husband, Andrew, of Pennsylvania and Melissa Stith and husband, Al, of New Jersey; two sisters, Mary Daniels of Fremont and Gloria Kornegay of Newark, N.J.; six brothers, John Kornegay and wife, Laurena, of New Jersey, Sylvester Kornegay and wife, Betty, Donald Kornegay, Harold Kornegay, James Kornegay of Fremont and Darvis Kornegay of Goldsboro; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two maternal aunts, Phenia Stevens and Willie Pitts and husband, Troy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home and Florist, 900 S. George St. in Goldsboro. Also, a wake will be conducted from 5 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home, with the family present to receive other relatives and friends.
At other times, the family will receive friends and other family members at the residence, 201 W. Branch St. in Fremont.
