FAISON -- Wendell Thompson, 63, 971 Wade Daughtery Road, died Friday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Deeper Life Church Ministries in Goldsboro. Interment will be in the Old Mill Cemetery with military honors.
Survivors are his wife, Bertha Thompson of Turkey; three daughters, Tonya Richardson of Alexandria, Va., Tiwanta Patterson of Goldsboro and Ericka Best Hunt of High Point; three sons, Derwin Best of Turkey, Raymond Patterson of Washington, D.C., and Marc Thompson of Greenville; five sisters, Minnie Coley of Washington, D.C., Mary Thompson of Irvington, N.J., Edna Faison of Faison and Isadora Thompson and Esther Thompson both of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, Nathan "Bobby" Thompson of Faison and Aaron Thompson of Washington, D.C.; eight grandchildren; and a special friend, Minnie Patterson of Goldsboro.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 7 p.m., with the family present 6 to 7 p.m. at Butler & Son Funeral Services, 410 N. Blvd. in Clinton, www.butlerandson.com.
