Marian Emily Hayes Olmstead, 61, passed away Wednesday surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service will be held at Hogg Funeral Home in Gloucester, Va., Saturday.
Born in Newport News, Va., she was the daughter of the late Paul Sanford Hayes and Mary of Newport News.
Marian was a 1966 graduate of Ferguson High School and graduated in 1969 from Obici Hospital School of Nursing.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and vacationing at the ocean.
She had lived in North Carolina with her husband for the last 38 years.
She is survived by her husband, John Michael Olmstead; daughter, Kelly Olmstead Tanner and husband, Scott; granddaughter, Emily Hayes Tanner; sisters, Paula Wheat and husband, Richard, Jean Farrar and husband, George, and Kathleen Hogge and husband, Charles; and brother, Paul Guy Hayes and wife, Karen.
