Kernie Dwight Rowe, 63, died Monday evening at home.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Funeral Home, with the Rev. Woody Whitt officiating.
Born in Nash County, he was the son of the late Charles Stapleton and Ella Perry Rowe.
He was retired from the former Herbert Little's TV Repair of Goldsboro and Borden Manufacturing.
He was best known for playing pool at the Snack and Cue on William Street and 4th Street Grocery on Stronach Ave.
Mr. Rowe is survived by his nephews, William "Frankie" Rowe and Dwight Calvin Rowe, and three nieces, Cindy Rowe Daily, Shalimar Verini-Barker and Cathy Verini-Woods.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Christopher Chamberlin; a brother; and three sisters.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service Sunday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his niece, Cindy Daily, 212 Gator Drive in Goldsboro.
