Verna Irene Gregory Underwood, 84, passed away Wednesday morning.
A service of remembrance will be Saturday at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Lee officiating.
She was born in Greensboro to the late Fred M. Gregory and Mildred V. Blankenship Gregory.
Verna had worked as a school bus driver for more than 30 years in Dade County, Fla.
Verna is survived by her daughter, Beverly Stroud and husband, Joseph, of Goldsboro; her son, Gregory Elliott of Lackawanna, N.Y.; her granddaughters, Michelle Holloway and husband, Clayton, of Goldsboro and Marsha Sullivan and husband, Sean, of Mount Olive; her great-grandchildren, Joseph Lohr, Skyler Lohr, Will Norris, Max Norris, Shayne Sullivan, Shelby Sullivan and Shoal Sullivan; and her brother, Earl Gregory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Underwood.
The family will greet friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
