MYRA R. JACKSON

Mrs. Myra Rogers Jackson, 81, passed away Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Wayne County Jan. 11, 1928, to the late David John Rogers and Wrenner Parker Rogers. She was married for 50 years to the late Newell Boyette "Jack" Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church, where she taught the Gleaner's Sunday school class. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by her funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel with her nephew, the Rev. Paul Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann J. Watkins and husband, Alvin Watkins Jr., of Goldsboro; her son, Gary Jackson and wife, Judy Brandt Jackson, of Goldsboro; her sisters, Helen Ellis of Raleigh and Lois Howell of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Jill Watkins-Carden and husband, Phil Carden, and Ashton Watkins and wife, Ashley; and her great-grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Carden, Noah Edward Carden and Ashton Taylor Watkins. She was also expecting a new great-grandson in May, Baby Boy Watkins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her son, Paul Douglas Jackson; her daughter, Rebecca Lynn Jackson; and her brothers-in-law, Leslie Ellis and Raymond Howell.
