SAM J. PRICE

Sam J. Price, 81, passed away Monday after years of battling prostate cancer.
Funeral services will be held in the Thursday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with chaplain Allen Strickland officiating. Internment will be at Pineview Cemetery, N.C. 111 south.
Mr. Price was born to Samuel and Stella Price of Seven Springs.
Mr. Price was a long-standing member of Woodman of the World.
He was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Margie Dixon Price; a son, Tony and Ruth Price and their children, Todd, Misty and husband, Ray Sisco; a daughter, Karen of Marmac; a sister, Gayra Berger Maynard; a brother-in-law, Glenn Maynard of Va.; a sister-in-law, Margaret H. Price of Goldsboro; three nephews, Howard and Margie Berger, Eric Berger and Jerry and Tracy Price and their children, Conner and Miranda; and a niece, Rena Raymond of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Retha Blue Whitfield and her 2-year-old son, who died of Leukemia; Morgan Gerald Price; Theron D. Price; and a niece, Lori Price Lowe.
There will be a time of visitation with the family following the service and at other times at the home, 300 Muriel Hooks Drive in Rosewood.
The family wishes to thank his doctor, Dr. Owens, and all of the staff of Britthaven Nursing Home for taking such good care of "Sam I am" for two years and four months.
