Marian "Marie" Hayes Wright, 88, passed away Monday at Lenior Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont with visitation afterwards. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Church Cemetery in Fremont.
Mrs. Wright was born in Nash County Sept. 27, 1921, to the late Roy Hayes and Beatrice Parker Hayes.
She was a member of Saulston United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Wesley Wright and wife, Carolyn, of Fremont and Jack Wright and wife, Ruby, of Fremont; two daughters, Juanita Wade of Goldsboro and Jeanette Beasley of Goldsboro; two brothers, Charles Hayes of Virginia and Robert Hayes and wife, Mildred, of South Carolina; a special nephew, L.D. Wright and wife, Frances, of South Carolina; two sisters, Patsy Dew and husband, Smokey, of South Carolina and Jo Ann Davis of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Mary Ingram, Donnie Beasley, Melissa Wilkins, Marie Barrs, Ashley Beasley, Chad Wade and Jennifer Newcomb; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, William Wright, and one granddaughter, Teresa Nelson.
The family will receive friends at other times at the residence of her daughter, Juanita Wade, 2696 U.S. 13 north in Goldsboro.
