SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. -- Edward Hill White Jr. passed away Saturday. The Lord had work that he needed for Ed to do and called him home.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 22 in Arlington National Cemetery.
Ed was born in Culpepper, Va., and was an Army veteran of World War II. He received the EAMETO Ribbon WD Cir 6244, Good Conduct Medal SO 121 Hq 928th FA Bn 44, American Theatre Ribbon Cir 345 45, 1 Battle Star on EAMETO Ribbon, Purple Heart GO 6 Hqs 135th GH 45 and World War II Victory Medal Cir 326 45.
After his military service, he was employed for 201/2 years with the Central Intelligence Agency where he retired. In addition, he worked at Dollywood in amusement and attractions for 131/2 years.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Rose House White; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Patty White, Wayne Paul White, Donald White and Gregory and Jenny White; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Ann White and Vinod Nepal, Sabrina VanCor and Darwin Guerrero; grandchildren, Wendy and Tom Lillie, Suzette White, Isabella Guerrero, Keasha White; great-grandchildren, Aspen Hebdon, Brennan Hebdon, Aaron Lillie, Brian Rico Centeno, Christian Centeno, Shane Forbes, Angelina Christian White; brother and sister-in-law, Walter Yancy "Skeet" and Nancy White; sister, Gwendelyn Lloyd; sisters-in-law, Alice House and Joyce Wiggins; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his wife, Ester Gorham White; parents, Edward H. and Minnie Mae White; daughter, Nancy Catherine White; grandson, Donnie Ray White Jr.; brother, Billy White and wife Anne; nephew, Buster White; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kirby and Leomia House; brother-in-law, Earl House; and sister-in-law, Donnie Olszewski.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home in Alexandria, Va.
