FOUR OAKS -- Willie H. Batten, 79, died Wednesday.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Pauline Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Burton and the Rev. Freddy Langston officiating. Burial will be in Pauline Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was a retired fireman with Stricklands Crossroads Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Christine H. Batten; daughter and son-in-law, Joy Beth and Al Whitfield of Goldsboro; granddaughter, Laura Whitfield of Goldsboro; sisters, Ercell and Earl Lee of Four Oaks and Lorene Guy of Four Oaks; brothers, Charlie P. and Faye Batten of Four Oaks, Joe and Doris Batten of Four Oaks and Valton Batton of Benson; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Batten of Four Oaks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Velia Batten; brothers, Cornell Batten and Alfred Batten; and sister, Dorothy Hayes.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
