NEWTON GROVE -- William M. Turner Jr., formerly of Petersburg, Va., passed away Monday.
A memorial service was held today at 2 p.m. at West and Dunn Funeral Home in Newton Grove, with the Rev. Joel Kettner and the Rev. Walter Gaskins officiating.
He was the son of the late Dr. William M. and Margaret Turner.
Bill enjoyed the company of good friends, winning at canasta and relishing a fresh tomato. His quick wit, pleasant demeanor and ever-present hospitality will be sorely missed by scores of friends.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; brothers, Richard B. of Alexandria, Va., and Robert C. of Murfreesboro; and sister, Margaret Walsh of Petersburg, Va.
